The Café, Fenton ST4 3FA

We use the Community Room here, an awesome space to meet in the recently refurbished Town Hall. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere and once you have stepped through its doors, you’ll be back time and again for its delicious food and drinks. Not only that, the ladies who have attended our sessions here, have signed up for other activities that are offered by Restoke. The venue has great parking on the street outside and with plans for a wheelchair ramp, is accessible for all. For parents bringing their children, you are welcome to wait in the café whilst your child’s sessions are running. The staff here are friendly and so supportive.

Green Grams Zero Waste Shop and Café

Newcastle under Lyme ST52AD

We use the cosy upstairs room at this eco shop on Merrial Street. You can grab a delicious cake and a cuppa to bring upstairs with you. A very calming space and in drier weather, we can also make use of the quirky ‘wonky courtyard’. Again, parents can wait for their children downstairs in the café. Sally, the owner, is very active in supporting mental health and wellbeing and many people see the café as their safe space, including SAAS-the Staffordshire Adult Autistic Society. She also hosts various creative workshops which some of our adult participants have signed up for.

The Community Room Tesco Extra, Hanley, ST1 4LS

Heather is the Community Champion at Tesco Extra in Hanley. I’d been to the store many times but didn’t know about this gem of a community space, hiding the other side of the lemonade aisle by the checkouts. A fabulous room with its own accessible facilities. The Community room also hosts a wide variety of other weekly events such as mother and baby groups and craft sessions. Again, plenty of free parking and accessible for all!

Our Partner Schools

Over the last two years, we have been fortunate enough to work with a number of schools in our local area.  We are so grateful for the support of the staff within the school, and as ex-teachers ourselves, we want to ensure that the children in our community have as much support as possible with their mental health and wellbeing, helping them to gain confidence, learn resilience and overcome anxiety!

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce

As part of our introduction into running our own business, we started our journey with a free start-up business course at the Chambers.  We have since attended other sessions to help guide us through areas we found difficult to start with, such as improving our presence on social media.  It was there that we met the fabulous Gemma Bourne, a Local Enterprise Manager with the NatWest Bank.  We think that she can fix anything!  We were delighted to be asked by Gemma to run courses for the Boosting Women in Business course, jointly run by NatWest and the Chambers.  It is great to support other people that are at the beginning of their journey, and we cannot thank the Chambers or Gemma enough for all of the support they have given to us over the last two years.

So, its not just about us and our programs. Supporting our community to thrive goes way beyond our six week program. We love to catch up with our adult groups six weeks after our sessions end. Why? To find out the next chapter of their story. What is the lasting impact after the six weeks have ended? What have our participants gone on to do? Gone on to achieve? We are part of a larger network and we love to watch it grow.
